Worcester, Mass. - Worcester, Mass. - Holy Cross men's cross country runner freshman Kyle Rougeot (Pataskala, Ohio) was named Patriot League Male Runner of the Week Wednesday morning for the week ending October 8. Rougeot's time of 26:48 in the New England Championship on Saturday was his personal best in his young career. Rougeot has been steadily improving his time all season. At the Blue Devil Invitational on September 2, Rougeot's time of 28:01 gave him a starting point and goals to achieve throughout the season. From each race on, Rougeot's five mile time dropped an average of 18.25 seconds, putting him in good position to be one of the first Crusaders across the line in each meet. In the recent races, Rougeot's time dropped from 27:21 in the National Catholic Championship to 26:59 at the Murray Keatinge Invitational, ultimately leading to the new career best of 26:48 this past weekend. Next up for Rougeot and the Crusaders is on Saturday October 21 at the Central Connecticut State Mini-Meet in New Britain, Conn. Start time is scheduled for 1 PM.
