Crusaders Return To Action At National Catholic Championship

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY Following a week off, the Crusaders will return to action on Friday, September 19, when they take part in the National Catholic Championship in
Notre Dame, Ind.
Holy Cross opened the season with a stellar showing on Sept. 5 at the 2008 Blue Devil Invitational held at Central Connecticut. They defeated New Haven, Northeastern and Central Connecticut to finish first overall with 30 points.
Freshman Cory Loftis (Branford, Conn.) was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, for competition from
September 1-7. Loftis helped lead the Holy Cross men's cross country team to a first place finish at the Blue Devil
Invitational, held in New Britain, Conn., on Friday, Sept. 5.
At the Blue Devil Invitational, Loftis had the fourth-best time on the team, and placed sixth overall. In the first meet of his
collegiate career, he finished the eight-kilometer course in a time of 28:06. The victory was the second straight at the Blue
Devil Invitational for the Crusaders, who also won the event in 2007.
