EASTON, Pa. -- The Holy Cross men's and women's cross country teams both took part in the Leopard Invitational, held on Saturday at Lafayette. The Crusader women finished in fifth place with 117 points, while the men came in ninth with 244 points. Junior Caitlin Paluilis (Pittsfield, Mass.) led the women's team by finishing in fifth place with a time of 21:21.0, while sophomore Kyle Rougeot (Torrington, Conn.) had a 35th place finish in a time of 27:07.5 to lead the men. Maryland claimed both the men's (63 points) and women's (68 points) titles.

For the Holy Cross women, Paluilis was followed by junior Elizabeth Alizzi (Syosset, N.Y.) in 26th place (22:01.0), junior Alexandra Swiatocha (Mahopac, N.Y.) in 28th place (22:07.0) and junior Colleen Spilka (Hamden, Conn.) in 35th place (22:20.0). On the men's side, Rougeot was followed by sophomore Timothy Richard (Attleboro, Mass.) in 44th place (27:18.8), junior Brad Mish (Hadley, Mass.) in 45th place (27:19.8) and junior Kevin Lucid (New Providence, N.J.) in 78th place (28:13.2).

The Crusaders will return to action next Saturday, October 20, when they take part in the Central Connecticut Mini Meet in New Britain, Conn.
