Men's Cross Country Selected Eighth In Preseason Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's cross country team has been selected to finish eighth in the 2012 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by conference coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Navy, last year's champion, was selected as the preseason favorite, garnering 97 points and 13 first place votes.

American was selected second with 84 points and two first place votes, while Lehigh was voted third in the preseason poll with 71 points and one first place vote. Army claimed the fourth spot with 64 points, while Bucknell was selected fifth with 53 points. Colgate was selected sixth with 39 points, Lafayette was eighth with 23 points and the Crusaders finished eighth with 17 points.
The Crusaders return 19 letterwinners from last year's team and welcome six newcomers to the team. Holy Cross kicks off the 2012 season at the Harry Lang Invitational in Hamilton, N.Y. on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 11:30 a.m. The race is a 5k and will be held on the campus of Colgate University.
