Men’s Cross Country Finishes 23rd At The New England Championship

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) placed 47th to lead the Holy Cross men's cross country team to a 23rd place finish at the New England Championship on Saturday afternoon. Connecticut took home the team title with 149 points, while the Crusaders finished 23rd out of 43 teams with 630 points.

Altenau crossed the finish line first for the Crusaders in 47th place overall with a time of 25:56 in the 4.95 mile race. Sophomore Zach Maddigan (Middleboro, Mass.) was the second Crusader to cross the line, finishing in 102nd place with a time of 26:36. Senior Cory Loftis (Branford, Conn.) placed 119th with a time of 26:47, sophomore Dylan Villescas (Las Cruces, N.M.) finished 154th with a time of 27:29, sophomore Nick Petsky (Manorville, N.Y.) finished 147th with a time of 27:07, and sophomore Greg Hamalian (West Bridgewater, Mass.) finished in 215th place finish in a time of 28:08.
