Men's Cross Country Places 20th At National Catholic Championship

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Senior Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) finished in 35th place overall with a time of 25:38, as the Holy Cross men's cross country team finished in 12th place at the 2011 National Catholic Championship. The Crusaders finished with 398 points as a team, as Notre Dame won the title with 28 points. DePaul's Matthew Graham was the top individual finisher with a time of 24:15.

Holy Cross' top finishers after Altenau were freshman John Cicchitti (Warminster, Pa.) in 63rd place (26:02), senior Cory Loftis (Branford, Conn.) in 70th place (26:06) and sophomore Zach Maddigan (Middleboro, Mass.) in 97th place (26:32).

The Crusaders return to action tomorrow, Sept. 17, when they take part in the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.
