WORCESTER, Mass. - Nine members of the Holy Cross men's cross country team have been named to the 2010 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll announced today by the league. Senior Chris Bergan (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was named to the honor roll for the fourth consecutive year. Bergan, a Political Science major, recorded a 3.7 grade-point average for the fall semester.
Senior Brendan Medeiros (Fall River, Mass.), junior Cory Loftis (Branford, Conn.) and junior Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) were named to the honor roll for the second time in their careers, while senior James Fletcher (Woburn, Mass.) and freshmen Brian Brazeau (Warwick, R.I.), Sean Hagan (Reading, Mass.), Tom Santa Maria (Winchester, Mass.) and Dylan Villescas (Las Cruces, N.M.) earned the honor for the first time.
A total of 109 student-athletes from eight Patriot League schools were named to the honor roll. To be eligible, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and be a member of the school's team in one of the seven Patriot League-sponsored fall championship sports.
