Men's Cross Country Heads To New England Championships This Weekend

  • The Holy Cross men's cross country team opens up the championship portion of its season at the New England Championship on Saturday, Oct. 9 in Boston, Mass. At the 2009 Championship, UMass-Lowell took home the team title, while AIC's Glarius Rop won the individual title.
  • Last season, former Crusader Tim Richard led Holy Cross with a 62nd place finish and time of 25:50. Junior Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) was the next Crusader to cross the line, finishing in 70th place with a time of 25:53. Holy Cross finished 25th of 47 teams.
  • Altenau led the Crusaders with a second place finish against Maine last weekend. It was the second race this season that Altenau has led the Crusaders and his time of 25:36.9 was a season-best in the five mile.
