DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Junior Stephen Madsen (New Providence, N.J.) placed 58th to lead the Holy Cross men's cross country team to a 14th place finish at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Keene State took home the team title with 73 points, while the Crusaders finished 14th with 438.
Madsen finished in 58th place with a time of 26:12 in the 8k race. Sophomore Chris Schaller (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was the second Crusader to cross the line, finishing in 80th place with a time of 26:37. Sophomore Nick Poles (Quincy, Mass.) placed 87th with a time of 26:47, sophomore Kevin Turner (Charlton, Mass.) finished 111th with a time of 27:23 and sophomore Brian Treadway (Albany, N.Y.) finished 138th with a time of 27:53 to round out Holy Cross' top five.
The Crusaders will take a break from action, returning to the cross country course on Oct. 2 at the Murray Keatinge Invitational hosted by Maine.
