Men’s Cross Country Take Seventh At National Catholic Championship

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Junior Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) finished 20th to lead the Holy Cross men's cross country team to a seventh place finish at the National Catholic Championship hosted by Notre Dame on Friday afternoon. Host Notre Dame took home first place to lead the field.

Altenau was the first Crusader to cross the line, finishing in 20th place with a time of 25:41. Junior Cory Loftis (Branford, Conn.) placed 44th with a time of 26:27 and senior Brendan Medeiros (Fall River, Mass.) finished 45th with a time of 26:28. Senior Chris Bergan (Shrewsbury, Mass.) placed 61st with a time of 26:38, sophomore Kyle Shepard (White Plains, N.Y.) finished 80th with a time of 27:13 and sophomore Dylan Leazes (Providence, R.I.) placed 94th with a time of 27:22.

Holy Cross continues competition at UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday, Sept. 18. The race is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m.
