WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore Kyle Shepard (White Plains, N.Y.) was the first member of the Holy Cross men's cross country team to cross the line Friday afternoon at the Bryant Invitational. Shepard finished in sixth place with a time of 16:36.00. Northeastern's Eric Jenkins took home the top spot, finishing first with a time of 15:58.80.
Junior Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) finished in seventh place with a time of 16:37.10 and senior Brendan Medeiros (Fall River, Mass.) placed 13th with a time of 16:38.73. Sophomore Dylan Leazes (Providence, R.I.) and junior Cory Loftis (Branford, Conn.) rounded out Holy Cross' top five finishers, placing 13th and 14th respectively with times of 16:56.66 and 16:59.06. Freshman Zach Maddigan (Middleboro, Mass.) was the first Holy Cross rookie to cross the line, finishing in 23rd place with a time of 17:20.89.
Holy Cross continues action on Sept. 11 at the Blue Devil Invitational hosted by Central Connecticut State. Race time is set for 12:00 p.m.
