Holy Cross Selected Sixth In Preseason Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's cross country team has been selected to finish sixth in the 2010 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by conference coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Navy, last year's champion, was selected as the preseason favorite, garnering 97 points and 13 first place votes.

American was selected second with 86 points and three first place votes, while Army was voted third in the preseason poll with 64 points. Bucknell claimed the fourth spot with 63 points, while Lehigh was selected fifth with 60 points. The Crusaders were selected sixth with 33 points, Colgate seventh with 27 points and Lafayette was eighth with 18 points.

The Crusaders return 12 letterwinners from last year's team and welcome 10 newcomers to the team. Holy Cross kicks off the 2010 season at the Bryant Invitational in Smithfield, R.I. on Friday, Sept. 3 at 4:00 p.m. The race is a 5k and will be held on the campus of Bryant University.
