WORCESTER, Mass. - Five members of the Holy Cross men's cross country team have been named to the 2009 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll announced today by the league. Junior Chris Bergan (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was named to the honor roll for the third consecutive year. Bergan, a Political Science major, led the team with a 3.78 grade-point average.
Senior Garrett Huddy (Columbus, Ohio) was named to the honor roll for the fourth time in his career and sophomore Ben Brink (New Rochelle, N.Y.) was honored for the second time. Newcomers Nick Poles (Quincy, Mass.) and Kevin Turner (Charlton, Mass.) were also named to the honor roll.
A total of 87 student-athletes from eight Patriot League schools were named to the honor roll. To be eligible, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and be a member of the school's team in one of the seven Patriot League-sponsored fall championship sports.
