Crusaders Set To Wrap Up Season At IC4A Championship

  • The Holy Cross men's cross country team will conclude the 2009 season at the IC4A Championship at Van Cortland Park in Bronx, N.Y.
  • At last year's IC4A Championship, sophomore Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) led the Crusaders in the five mile run with an 80th place finish and a time of 27:13. Classmates Cory Loftis (Branford, Conn.) completed the course in 27:29, Alex Dobens (Kansas City, Mo.) finished with a time of 29:00 and Stephen Madsen (New Providence, N.J.) was the final Crusader to cross the line at the 30:00 mark.
  • Loftis led the Crusaders at last week's NCAA Northeast Regional with a 100 place overall finish with a time of 33:55. Loftis' team leading finish was his third of the season, as he was the top Crusader at the Patriot League Championship and National Catholic Championship.
  • Freshman Kyle Shepard (White Plains, N.Y.) was the first rookie to cross the line for Holy Cross, finishing with a time of with a time of 35:04. This is the third time that Shepard has been the top rookie as he was the top freshman finisher at the Blue Devil Invitational and at the Patriot League Championship.
