HAMILTON, N.Y. - Sophomore Cory Loftis (Branford, Conn.) placed 22nd to lead the Holy Cross men's cross country team to a sixth place finish at the Patriot League Championship in Hamilton, N.Y. on Saturday afternoon. Navy's Andrew Hanko led the field and his team to victory with a time of 26:17.9, while the Crusaders finished in sixth place in the team competition.
Loftis finished with a time of 27:11.2 to lead Holy Cross, while sophomore Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) finished in 26th place with a time of 27:20.4. Rounding out the top five for Holy Cross was senior Tim Richard (Attleboro, Mass.) in 28th place with a time of 27:21.6, freshman Kyle Shepard (White Plains, N.Y.) in 54th place with a time of 28:28.5 and Garrett Huddy (Columbus, Ohio) in 57th place with a time of 28:32.9.
The Crusaders will take a week off before returning to action at the NCAA Northeast Regional on Saturday, November 14 at 10:00 a.m.
