Holy Cross Men's Cross Country Finishes 11th At Central Connecticut
NEW BRITAIN, Conn.
- Sophomore Ben Brink (New Rochelle, N.Y.) was the
top performer for the Crusaders, finishing with a time of 16:46.46
as the Holy Cross men's cross country team took 11th at the Central
Connecticut Mini Meet in New Britain, Conn. on Saturday.
Brink crossed the finish line in 69th place overall and 56th in the team competition. Freshman Brian Treadway (Albany, N.Y.) was next for Holy Cross, finishing 70th overall and 57th in the team portion of the meet with a time of 16:48.59 on the 5k course. Junior Chris Bergan (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was third across the line for the Crusaders in 61st place in the team portion of the meet (17:05.08), followed by freshman Nick Poles (Quincy, Mass.) in 66th (17:19.62). Sophomore Alex Dobens (Kansas City, Mo.) took 67th place in 17:25.26 and sophomore Mark Drago (Oak Park, Ill.) finished in 69th with a time of 17:37.90.
Providence won the team competition with 33 points, placing four runners in the top 10. Host Central Connecticut finished second with 71 points, followed by Quinnipiac in third (81 points) and Brown in fourth (117). Wagner rounded out the top five with 126 points.
The Crusaders are next in action Saturday, Oct. 31 when they travel to Hamilton, N.Y. for the Patriot League Championship. The meet is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m.
