ORONO, Maine - Dalhousie's Russell Christie led the field with a time of 24:41, while St. Francis Xavier finished in three of the top four places to claim the team title at the Murray Keating Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Maine on Saturday, Oct. 3. The Holy Cross men's cross country team had two runners finish in the top ten, finishing second out of six teams at the Invitational.
The Crusaders were led by senior Tim Richard (Attleboro, Mass.) in fifth place with a time of 25:23.97. Sophomore Cory Loftis (Branford, Conn.) finished in seventh place with a time of 25:36.73, while fellow sophomore Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) took 11th with a time of 25:53.78. Freshman Dylan Leazes (Providence, R.I.) was the top rookie performer for the Crusaders, finishing in 19th place with a time of 26:34.25.
The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, Oct. 10 when they travel to Boston, Mass. for the New England Championship.
