Holy Cross Heads To Maine Following A Week Off
Schedule: Saturday, Oct. 3, Murray Keatinge Invitational, Orono, Maine, 10:00 a.m.
- The Holy Cross men's cross country team will travel the Murray Keatinge Invitational in Orono, Maine on Oct. 3. The race is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. The Crusaders finished sixth of eight in last year's meet.
- At last year's Murray Keatinge Invitational, senior Tim Richard (Attleboro, Mass.) was the second Crusader across the line in 34th place with a time of 26:01. Sophomores Cory Loftis (Branford, Conn.) and Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) followed Richard in 48th (26:45.88) and 53rd (26:59.02) place respectively. Former Crusader Brad Mish was the top Holy Cross performer, finishing in 31st place.
- Freshman Dylan Leazes (Providence, R.I.) was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week last week for his performance at the National Catholic Championship on Sept. 18. Leazes finished in 48th place with a time of 27:03.6. Leazes was the only Holy Cross freshman to finish the race.
- In its three races this season, Holy Cross has been lead by three different top performers. Richard was the top Holy Cross performer at the Blue Devil Invitational, Loftis led the Crusaders at the National Catholic Championship and sophomore Stephen Madsen (New Providence, N.J.) was the top performer at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational. Loftis' and Madsen's top finishes were their first in a Crusader uniform, while Richard has been the top Holy Cross finisher eight times.
