Men's Cross Country Finishes 16th At UMass-Dartmouth Invitational
Mass. - Sophomore Stephen Madsen (New Providence,
N.J.) ran the 8k in a career-best 26:29 and finished in
72nd place to lead Holy Cross to a 16th-place finish at the
UMass-Dartmouth Invitational today in Dartmouth, Mass. The event
caps off a weekend where the Crusaders also finished fifth at the
National Catholic Invitational in Notre Dame, Ind.
Sophomore Ben Brink (New Rochelle, N.Y.) also ran a career best, finishing second for Holy Cross in 82nd-place with a time of 26:48. Junior Chris Bergan (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was next for the Crusaders in 109th with a time of 27:20. The Crusaders finished with 508 points overall, nine points behind Fitchburg St. and eight ahead of Colby.
Keene St. had three runners in the top 10 and finished first overall with 68 points. Stonehill finished in second place with 96 points, followed by Southern Maine, Brandeis and Adelphi rounding out the top five.
Holy Cross is next in action Saturday, Oct. 3 when it travels to Orono, Maine to participate in the Murray Keatinge Invitational. The event is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.
