Holy Cross Men's Cross Country Takes Fifth At National Catholic Invitational
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Sophomore Cory Loftis (Branford, Conn.) placed 12th at the 30th annual National Catholic Invitational to lead the Holy Cross men's cross country team to a fifth place finish. Host Notre Dame claimed first, with seven runners finishing in the top 10.
Loftis claimed 12th place with a time of 26:03.8, over a minute faster than his time from last week's race. Senior Tim Richard (Attleboro, Mass.) followed Loftis with a 17th place finish and a time of 26:17.7. Sophomore Dan Alteneu (Eastchester, N.Y.) crossed the line in 34th place with a time of 26:40.5. Freshman Dylan Leazes (Providence, R.I.) led the Holy Cross newcomers with a 46th place finish and a time of 27:03.6.
Select members of the Holy Cross men's cross country team will compete on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational. The team returns to competition at the Murray Keatinge Invitational on Oct. 3.
