WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's track and field squad has placed 24 student-athletes on the 2008 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by league officials. Leading the Crusaders was senior Kevin Dowd (Broad Brook, Conn.), who was selected to the Academic Honor Roll for the fourth consecutive year. Holy Cross' 24 total selections to the Academic Honor Roll were the second most in the conference.
In addition to Dowd, representing the Crusaders were seniors Nathaniel Couture (Taunton, Mass.), Samuel Hutchings (Lakeville, Conn.), Alex Ignachuck (Maynard, Mass.), Conor Meikle (Newport, R.I.), Sean Murphy (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and Michael Ricotta (Cross River, N.Y.); juniors Robert Farrelly (East Northport, N.Y.), Sebastian Fidelus (Jersey City, N.J.), Kevin Lucid (New Providence, N.J.), James Lundy (Katonah, N.Y.), Andrew Maggio (Chelmsford, Mass.), Stephen Mandravelis (Nashua, N.H.), Jonathan Medeiros (New Bedford, Mass.), Terrence Regan (Northport, N.Y.) and Stephen Schoenberger (North Hampton, N.H.); sophomores Garrett Huddy (Pataskala, Ohio) and Chase Kennedy (Marblehead, Mass.); and freshmen Chris Bergan (Shrewsbury, Mass.), Patrick Grogan (Hudson, Mass.), Martin Hyland (Rye, N.Y.), Connor LaClair (Hyde Park, Vt.), Gregory Liguori (Norwood, N.J.) and Ryan Quinn (Old Lyme, Conn.).
A total of 134 student-athletes from men's track and field teams around the league earned spots on this year's Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter.
