WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross junior Tiffany Reid (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) earned first team All-Patriot League honors as the 2009 men's and women's outdoor track and field All-Patriot League teams were announced by the League office on Monday, following the conclusion of the outdoor track and field championships this past weekend in West Point, N.Y. The first team All-Patriot League squad is comprised of the first-place finishers in each event (individual and relay), while the second team All-Patriot League group is comprised of the second place finishers in each event.
Reid was named to the first team for her first place finish in the 200 meter dash. Reid finished with an ECAC Championship qualifying time of 24.32 seconds and earns an automatic qualification to the NCAA Regional meet. Reid also received second team honors for her second place finish in the 100 meter dash and 4x100 meter relay. Reid set a new school record in the 100 with a time of 11.84 seconds and is the first student-athlete in the history of Holy Cross track and field to run the 100 meter dash under 12 seconds.
Reid's teammates, sophomore Caitlin White (Miller Place, N.Y.), senior Lesley Bautista (St. John's, Newfoundland) and sophomore M. Siobhan Straub (Mattituck, N.Y.) also earned second team honors for their performance in the 4x100 meter relay. The relay team finished in second place with an ECAC qualifying time of 47.69 seconds, narrowly missing the school record. Bautista also earned second team honors for her performance in the pole vault.
Senior Brad Mish (Hadley, Mass.) earned second team honors for his performances in the 10,000 and 5,000 meter runs. Mish finished second in both events with a time of 30:43.61 in the 10,000 and 14:51.77 in the 5,000.
Qualifying members of the Holy Cross men's and women's track and field teams will compete at the New England Championship on Friday-Saturday, May 8-9, in Amherst, Mass.
