Providence, R.I. - The Holy Cross men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Alden Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 4, hosted by Brown University.
Running in the men's 400 meter dash was junior Thomas Picanco (Cameron Park, Calif. ) , who placed third with a time of 52.54, while sophomore Christoper Bier (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) finished third in the men's 55 meter hurdles with a time of 8.39.
In the women's one mile run senior Lindsey Bomar (Bristol, Conn.) finished fourth with a time of 5:21.56.
The women's 4x800 meter relay team `A' placed fourth with a time of 10:19.17.
Junior Daniel Ryan (East Hempstead, N.H.) cleared a height of 1.93 meters in the men's high jump, placing fourth. Junior Stephen Virgilio (Portlant, Maine) finished second in the men's pole vault with a height of 4.12 meters.
Junior Jessica Fallon (Nashua, N.H.) finished second in the women's pole vault with a height of 11-00.00.
Holy Cross dominated the men's weight throw competition, placing four throwers in the top five. Sohpomore Nicholas Carr (Concord, Mass.) finished second with a distance of 14.53 meters. Freshman Alexander Ignachuck (Maynard, Mass.) and junior Stephen Laney (Cohasset, Mass.) each placed third and fourth in the weight throw with distances of 10.71 and 10.30 meters, respectively.
Senior Bethany Miczek (Leicester, Mass.) tied for third with a height of 1.53 in the women's high jump.
Next up for the Crusaders is the Harvard Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 11, in Cambridge, Mass.
