DURHAM, N.H. - The Holy Cross men's track and field team finished in 20th place at the 2008 New England Championship, held on Friday and Saturday at the University of New Hampshire. The Crusaders finished the meet with 12 total points, and had five individuals place in the top 10. Rhode Island won the meet with a total of 122 points.
Michael Ricotta (Cross, River) had the top performance for Holy Cross, finishing third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.57. Stephen Mandravelis (Nashua, N.H.) finished seventh in the hammer with a toss of 170'10", Brad Mish (Hadley, Mass.) was ninth in the 10,000-meter run in a time of 31:31.43, Conor Meikle (Newport, R.I.) came in ninth in the pole vault with a height of 14'3.25", and Jonathan Medeiros (New Bedford, Mass.) placed 10th in the discus with a throw of 140'7".
In addition, the 4x400-meter relay team finished fifth with a time of 3:18.06.
Holy Cross continues its season with select individuals competing at the IC4A Championship from May 16-18 in Princeton, N.J.
