WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore Doug Moringiello (Garden City, N.Y.) led the Crusaders with a first place finish as the Holy Cross men's track and field team hosted Clark, New Hampshire, Quinnipiac, Rhode Island and Worcester State at the Hart Track on Wednesday afternoon.
Moringiello finished first in the 110 hurdles with a time of 19.11 seconds. In the 5,000 senior Kevin Lucid (New Providence, N.J.) finished second with a time of 15:26.05, while freshman Cory Loftis (Branford, Conn.) took third with a time of 15:35.17. Freshman Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) led the Crusaders with a third place finish in the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 10:03.17, while senior Brad Mish (Hadley, Mass.) placed third in the 1500 with a time of 4:04.32. Senior Stephen Schoenberger (North Hampton, N.H.) finished fourth in the 800 with a time of 1:58.01.
In the field events, the Crusaders were led by a second place finish in the pole vault by senior Andrew Sherwood (Unadilla, N.Y.) with a height of 3.20 meters, while senior Terrence Regan (Northport, N.Y.) place third with a height of 2.96 meters. Freshman Alex Martin (Sutton, Mass.) finished third in the triple jump with a distance of 11.39 meters.
The Holy Cross men's track and field team will travel to the Brown Springtime Invitational on Sunday, April 26.
