First Day Complete At 2008 HC Decathlon & Heptathlon

WORCESTER, Mass. - The first day of competition is complete at the 2008 Holy Cross Decathlon & Heptathlon. In the men's decathlon, James Spaulding of Southern Maine holds the lead with 3,463 total points through five events. In the women's heptathlon, Latasha Jarrett of Hartford currently stands in first place with a total of 2,591 points through four events.

For the men, Crusader senior Conor Meikle (Newport, R.I.) ranks 13th with 2,942 points, while senior Matthew Kaili (Roswell, N.M.) is in 26th place with 1,897 points. On the women's side, Holy Cross junior Alexandra Swiatocha (Mahopac, N.Y.) currently stands in 11th place with 2,201 points.

The Holy Cross Decathlon & Heptathlon will conclude on Thursday, April 17, with the final five events for the men and the last three events for the women. Competition will begin at 11:00 a.m.
