DEDHAM, Mass. - Senior Stephen Mandravelis (Nashua, N.H.) took fourth in the hammer throw with an IC4A Championship qualifying distance as the Holy Cross men's track and field team competed at the 2009 Solomon Husky Invitational hosted by Northeastern University in Dedham, Mass. on Saturday, April 11.
Mandravelis placed fourth in the hammer throw with an IC4A qualifying distance of 54.80 meters. The Crusaders were led on the track with a one, two finish in the 200 dash by seniors Kyle Mushaweh (Woodbury, Conn.) and Andrew Maggio (Chelmsford, Mass). Mushaweh took first place with a time of 23.64 seconds, while Maggio took second with a time of 23.69. Junior Chase Kennedy (Marblehead, Mass.) finished first in the 400 with a time of 50.95, while freshman Cory Loftis (Branford, Conn.) took second in the 5,000 with a time of 15:24.16. Senior Robert Farrelly (East Northport, N.Y.) led the Crusaders in the 3,000 steeple chase with a second place finish in 10:51.75.
Holy Cross opens the outdoor season at the Hart Track, hosting the Holy Cross Decathlon on April 15-16.
