Holy Cross Commences Spring Season

Dedham, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's track and field team competed in its first outdoor meet on Saturday, March 26 at the Snowflake Classic hosted by Northeastern University, at the Solomon Track.

Senior John Nieskens (Peterborough, N.H.) ran a very strong 10,000-meter winning with a New England Championship qualifying time of 31:53.85.

In the javelin, freshman Nathaniel Couture (Taunton, Mass.) qualified for the New Englands after throwing 55.30-meters. Couture's throw earned him third place at the meet and ranks as the best javelin performance by a Holy Cross athlete in over 15 years.

Junior Thomas Severo (Westford, Mass.) placed third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:04.62.

The Crusaders next compete at the Southern Connecticut State Invitational on April 2, in New Haven, Conn. At 11 a.m.
