BOSTON, Mass. -- The Holy Cross men's and women's indoor track and field teams concluded their 2006-2007 indoor seasons this weekend, when they took part in a pair of championship meets. The men competed in the IC4A Indoor Championship at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center, while the women took part in the ECAC Indoor Championship at Northeastern's Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center.
The Crusader men had two individuals competing at the IC4A Championship. Senior Nicholas Carr (Concord, Mass.) led the way by placing 18th in the weight throw with a toss of 54 feet, 2-1/2 inches. Junior Michael Ricotta (Cross River, N.Y.) also had a solid showing for Holy Cross, coming in 21st in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.74 seconds.
On the women's side, the Crusaders had two competitors at the ECAC Championship. Freshman Olivia Pruszko (Monroe, Conn.) placed 12th in the pentathlon with a score of 3,494 points. Sophomore Lesley Bautista (St. John's, Newfoundland) also had a 12th place finish for Holy Cross, clearing a height of 11-feet, 7-3/4 inches in the pole vault.
The Holy Cross track and field teams return to action on Saturday, March 24, when they open their outdoor season at the Husky Spring Invitational in Dedham, Mass.
