BOSTON, Mass. - Senior Brad Mish (Hadley, Mass.) led the Crusaders with a first place finish in the 5000 meter run at the New England Indoor Championships on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 27-28 at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center in Boston, Mass. The Crusaders finished in 17th place out of 33 teams with 12 points, while the University of Connecticut claimed first with 128.50 points.
Mish finished first in the 5000 with a season-best and IC4A qualifying time of 14:35.70. Mish is the first Holy Cross New England Indoor Champion in the 5000 meter run and the first Crusader to be named New England Indoor Champion since 1995.
Also scoring for the Crusaders was the 4 x 800 meter relay team, ran by senior Stephen Schoenberger (North Hampton, N.H.), freshman Stephen Madsen (New Providence, N.J.), freshman Ben Brink (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and sophomore James Fletcher (Woburn, Mass.). The relay team finished seventh with an IC4A qualifying time of 7:48.92.
Select members of the men's track and field team will travel to Boston, Mass. on March 7-8 for the IC4A Indoor Championships starting at 11:00 a.m.
