Men's Track & Field Competes at New England Championship

Boston, Mass. - Select members of the Holy Cross men's indoor track and field team traveled to Boston, Mass. to compete in the New England Championship held at Boston University. Junior Michael Ricotta (Cross River, N.Y.) took sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.97. Ricotta qualified for the ECAC Championship with his finish, beating the qualifying standard by nearly six tenths of a second. His finish earned the Crusaders three of their seven points for the meet.

In the triple jump, Thomas Harrison placed fifth with a jump of 14.26 meters. His mark earned four points for the Crusaders. Harrison also took ninth in the long jump, clearing a distance of 6.69 meters. Senior Nicholas Carr (Concord, Mass.) took tenth in the weight throw, tossing a distance of 16.51 meters.

In the 4x400 meter relay, Ricotta and teammates sophomore Andrew Maggio (Chelmsford, Mass.), freshman Jason Baillio (Franklin, Mass.) and junior Sean Murphy (Shrewsbury, Mass.) took tenth in 3:20.68.

Overall, the Holy Cross men's indoor track and field team placed 19th at the New England Championship, earning seven points.

Select members of the team who qualified for the ECAC Championships will compete next weekend, March 3rd and 4th, at Northeastern University in Boston, Mass.
