Men's Track & Field Concludes Competition At PL Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The distance medley relay team took seventh place with an IC4A qualifying time to lead the Holy Cross men's track and field team at the final day of competition at the Patriot League Championships held at Navy's Wesley A. Brown Field House in Annapolis, Md. The Crusaders finished in eighth place with seven points, while Army claimed first with 188 points. Bucknell finished second with 129 points, Navy third with 103, Lehigh fourth with 93, Lafayette fifth with 48, American sixth with 40 and Colgate seventh with 12.
The distance medley relay team, ran by junior Timothy Richard (Attleboro, Mass.), senior Andrew Maggio (Chelmsford, Mass.), senior Sebastian Fidelus (Jersey City, N.J.) and junior Kyle Rougeot (Torrington, Conn.) finished in seventh place and qualified for the IC4A Championships with a time of 10:18.27. The 4x400 relay team, ran by sophomore Martin Hyland (Rye, N.Y.), junior Chase Kennedy (Marblehead, Mass.), freshman Stephen Madsen (New Providence, N.J.) and senior Stephen Schoenberger (North Hampton, N.H.) finished in eighth place with a time of 3:32.55.
Senior Brad Mish (Hadley, Mass.) led the Crusaders with a fifth place and season-best time of 8:30.83 in the 3000 meter run, while Maggio took seventh in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.66. Senior Jonathan Medeiros (New Bedford, Mass.) finished in sixth place in the shot put with a distance of 14.98 meters and Fidelus took eighth in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:56.86.
The Crusaders will continue competition on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 27-28 at the New England Indoor Championships held in Boston, Mass. at 10:00 a.m.
