Men's Track & Field Takes Eighth at Patriot League Championship

West Point, N.Y. - The Holy Cross men's track and field team placed eighth at the Patriot League Indoor Championship Meet, held over three days at Army in West Point, N.Y. Army won the meet with a total of 154.50 points. The Crusaders totaled four points on the weekend. The highest placing finisher was senior Nicholas Carr (Concord, Mass.). Carr placed fifth in the weight throw, with a throw of 16.74 meters. He earned two points for the Crusaders.

In another field event, the long jump, junior Thomas Harrison cleared a distance of 6.80m to take sixth place and earn one point for the Crusaders.

The Holy Cross 4x400 meter relay team of freshman Jason Baillio (Franklin, Mass.), junior Sean Murphy (Shrewsbury, Mass.), sophomore Andrew Maggio (Chelmsford, Mass.) junior Michael Ricotta (Cross River, N.Y.) placed sixth in 3:26.78, earning one point for Holy Cross.

Members of the Holy Cross men's indoor track and field team who have met or exceeded the qualification standards to compete in the New England Championship will compete February 23 and 24 at Boston University in Boston, Mass. at the annual Championship.
