Orono, Maine. - The men's track and field team traveled to Maine this past Saturday to compete against U. Maine and Central Conn. Holy Cross took first with 120 points. Central Conn. came in second with 110 points and U. Maine finished third with 106 points. The Crusaders captured six first place finishes for the day two of which senior Thomas Harrison (Wilmington, N.C) took in field events.
Harrison took first in both the long jump and triple jump. He jumped a distance of 22-00.75 feet in the long jump and 44-05.50 feet in triple. Other first place finishes included senior John Meikle (Newport, R.I.) with a first in the pole vault at a height of 13-06.00 feet, senior Michael Ricotta (Cross River, N.Y.) with a 49.92 finish in the 400-meter, junior Sebastian Fidelus (Jersey City, N.J.) with a 1.58.92 finish in the 800-meter race and sophomore Timothy Richard (Attleboro, Mass.) with a 8:58.64 finish in the 3000-meter.
The Crusaders compete again February 8, in Boston for the Valentines Invitational. Start time is set for 11:00 a.m.
