Track & Field Teams Compete At UNH

Durham, N.H. - The Holy Cross men's indoor track and field team competed at New Hampshire in a field of four teams. New Hampshire finished first with 219 points. Massachusetts (121 points) barely edged out the Crusaders (117 points) for second place as Boston College rounded out the field with 111 points.

The win over Boston College was Holy Cross' first in over 10 years.

Freshman Andrew Maggio (Chelmsford, Mass.) won the 55-meter dash in a time of 6.67 seconds. Also sophomore Kevin Dowd (Broad Brook, Conn.) was victorious in the men's triple jump.

Other solid showings for the Crusaders were by sophomore Michael Ricotta (Cross River, N.Y.), who took second in the 55-meter dash (6.77 seconds), and junior Nicholas Carr (Concord, Mass.), who was runner-up in the weight throw (51'3").

Sophomore Conor Meikle (Newport, R.I) and senior Daniel Ryan (East Hempstead, N.H.) each finished third in the pole vault and high jump, respectively.

The men's team will compete again Reebok Indoor Games in Boston next Friday, January 27.
