ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Senior Tim Moczula (Edison, N.J.) finished fourth overall in the final heat of the 110-meter hurdles as the men's track and field team wrapped up competition at the 2014 Patriot League Outdoor Championship on Saturday, hosted by Navy. Moczula finished with a career-fastest time of 14.91 seconds.
Other top-10 performers on the track Saturday for the Crusaders included senior Dylan Villescas (Las Cruces, N.M) who finished eighth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a career-fastest time of 9:33.98 and freshman William Ward (North Attleboro, Mass.) who finished ninth in the 400-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 55.47. Junior Mike Galasso (Danvers, Mass.) finished 10th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.87. In the field events, Moczula finished eighth in the high jump with a height of 1.89 meters.
The 4x400-meter relay team comprised of Galasso, senior Nick Petsky (Manorville, N.Y.), sophomore Dominic Abacherli (Boxborough, Mass.) and Ward finished fifth with a time of 3:21.29. The 4x100-meter team of senior Ross Davies (Salem, N.H.), Moczula, senior Thomas St. Cyr (Temple, N.H.) and junior Vuong Tran (Worcester, Mass.) took sixth at 43.53 seconds.
Navy won the team competition with 239 points followed by Bucknell (176) and Boston University (139.50).
Qualifying members of the men's track and field team will return to action on Thursday through Saturday, May 8-10, at the New England Outdoor Championship beginning at 1:00 p.m. Thursday and 10:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
