BOSTON, Mass. – Five members of the Holy Cross men's track and field team competed in the individual events at the New England Indoor Championship this weekend, hosted by Boston University. Freshman Tim Dunn (Fords, N.J.) earned the top finish for the Crusaders, taking 15th yesterday with a height of 4.40 meters in the pole vault.
Today, the 4x800-meter relay team comprised of sophomore Trevor Dutton (Burlington, Mass.), freshman Lucas Keefer (Yonkers, N.Y.), junior Sam McGrath (Tyngsboro, Mass.) and junior Nick Athanasidy (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) finished in second place with a season-best time of 7:3560. Freshman Dennis Muldoon (Weymouth, Mass.) finished the 3,000-meter run in a season-best time of 8:48.65.
Yesterday, sophomore Mike Galasso (Danvers, Mass.) finished the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.07, missing his season-best mark by .06 seconds. Juniors Tim Moczula (Edison, N.J.) and Paul Coulter (Lakeville, Mass.) crossed the finish line with times of 8.64 and 8.71, respectably, in the 60-meter hurdles. The distance medley relay team also took home an 18th place finish with a time of 10:31.24.
The Crusaders finished 21st of 31 teams. Qualifying members of the men's indoor track and field team will compete at the IC4A Indoor Championship, beginning Friday, March 1, at 4:00 p.m.
