WEST POINTS, N.Y. – Freshman Lucas Keefer (Yonkers, N.Y.) led the way for the Holy Cross men's track and field team on the final day of competition at the 2013 Patriot League Indoor Championship on Sunday with an eighth place finish in the 500-meter dash and season-best time of 1:07.20. Navy won the team championship with 204.50 points, followed by Bucknell (182) and Army (112).
Junior Sam McGrath (Tyngsboro, Mass.) added a top-10 finish in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:32.31. Freshman Tim Dunn (Fords, N.J.) added .20 meters to his season-best height in the pole vault, finishing fifth at 4.50 meters. Sophomore Nolan Kiernan (Wakefield, R.I.) set a team season-best mark of 12.47 meters in the shot put and freshman Dennis Muldoon (Weymouth, Mass.) set a personal season and team-best mark in the 3,000-meter run, crossing the finish line in 8:49.65.
The distance medley relay team comprised of freshman Francisco Tejidor (Coral Gables, Fla.), senior Nick Poles (Quincy, Mass.) and juniors Nick Petsky (Manorville, N.Y.) and Dylan Villescas (Las Cruces, N.M.) set a team season-best mark of 10:26.30.
Yesterday, junior Tim Moczula (Edison, N.J.) led the way for the Crusaders with a career-best time of 8.52 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles. Sophomore John Cicchitti (Warminster, Pa.) also set a career-best time in the 5,000, crossing the finish line in 15:34.67.
Qualifying members of the men's track and field team will compete at the New England Indoor Championship on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22-23.
