Men's Indoor Track And Field Gears Up For Joe Donahue Invitational

  • The Holy Cross men's track and field team will travel to the Joe Donahue Invitational on Friday, Jan. 25, at 3:00 p.m.
  • Last season, the Crusaders finished 14th at the Joe Donahue Invitational. Graduate Chandler Fenner led the team with two top-10 finishes in the 55-meter dash and long jump. Sophomore Mike Galasso (Danvers, Mass.) and junior Ross Davies (Salem, N.H.) also added top-10 finishes in their respective events. Galasso ran the 400 in 50.40 seconds while Davies sprinted the 200 in 23.15 seconds.
  • Six individual team season-best marks were set at last weekend's meet at New Hampshire. The 4x800 relay team of sophomore Jake Griffin (Billerica, Mass.), junior Tom Santa Maria (Winchester, Mass.), junior Sean Hagan (Reading, Mass.) and freshman Jorge Rojas (Manchester, N.H.) also set a season-best mark at 8:40.22. Individually, sophomore Vuong Tran (Worcester, Mass.) ran the 55 in 6.65 seconds, junior Sam McGrath (Tyngsboro, Mass.) ran the 1,000 in 2:32.05, freshman Francisco Tejidor (Coral Gables, Fla.) ran the one mile in 4:28.06 and sophomore John Cicchitti (Warminster, Pa.) ran the 3,000 in 8:55.72. In the field events, freshman Tim Dunn (Fords, N.J.) finished the pole vault at a height of 3.96 meters and sophomore Sean Carey (Newburyport, Mass.) finished the weight throw at a distance of 14.30 meters.
