WORCESTER, Mass. - Freshman Rob Cacace (Yonkers, N.Y. ) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from December 31-January 6. Cacace helped lead the Holy Cross men's indoor track and field team in competition at the Crowell Open, which was held in West Point, N.Y., on Saturday.
At the Crowell Open, Cacace finished in seventh place in the Heptathlon with a school-record score of 3,968 points. He recorded four top-five finishes in the seven event competition, including a first place finish in the shot put with a throw of 11.71 meters.
On the season, Cacace currently owns the top time on the team in the 1,000-meter run (3:02.86) and the top distances on the team in both the long jump (5.89 meters) and the shot put (12.27 meters).
Holy Cross returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 12, when it takes part in the Yale Invitational.
