Men's Track & Field to Host Two Events This Week

  • The men's track and field team will compete in its first home meets of the season this week. The Crusaders will host the Holy Cross Decathlon on Wednesday and Thursday, April 18-19, beginning at 11:30 a.m. (4/18) and 11:00 a.m. (4/19). The team will then welcome AIC, Bryant, Central Connecticut, Colgate, Hartford, Maine and Stonehill to Worcester for a meet on Saturday, April 21, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
  • Last season, the Crusaders hosted the decathlon on April 20-21 and Renrick Pesce from New Hampshire finished in first place with 5,734 points. Senior Michael Millard (Manhasset, N.Y.) finished 18th with 4,797 points. Student-athletes competed in the 100 meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400 meter, 110 meter hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw and 1500 meter run.
  • In last season's first full squad home meet, the Crusaders hosted AIC, Central Connecticut, Colgate, Hartford and Maine and finished second behind Maine (154 points) as a team with 144 points. Graduate Alex Johnson finished first in the long jump with a distance of 6.65 meters and senior Alex Martin (Sutton, Mass.) took first in the triple jump with a distance of 13.19 meters.
  • Holy Cross is coming off an 11th place finish at the UMass Invitational (4/14) and the Crusaders were led by sophomore Ross Davies (Salem, N.H.) who recorded two top five finishes.
