Men's Track & Field To Compete In Two Meets This Weekend

  • Members of the men's track and field team will head to New Hampshire on Saturday, April 7, to take on the Wildcats as well as the Maine Black Bears beginning at 11:00 a.m. New Hampshire and Maine are coming off a meet on March 31 in which the Black Bears hosted New Hampshire and Bates. Other select members of the team will travel to Auburn, Ala. to take part in the Auburn Tiger Classic, rather than to New Hampshire on Saturday. This will be the first time in recent history the Crusaders have traveled to the Tiger Classic.
  • Last season at the New Hampshire Invitational, three Crusaders earned fifth place finishes. Sophomore Ross Davies (Salem, N.H.) was the top performer for Holy Cross taking fifth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.88 seconds and sixth in the 100 meter dash at 11.35 seconds. Sophomores Tim Moczula (Edison, N.J.) and Dylan Villescas (Las Cruces, N.M.) each finished fifth in their respective events. Moczula crossed the finish line at 16.14 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles and Villescas came in at 10:10.13 in the steeple chase.
  • Select Throwers on the track and field team took part in the Worcester State University Invitational on Friday (3/30) and traveled to West Point, N.Y. on Saturday (3/31) to compete in the Dick Shea Open. Senior Chase Bradford (West Bridgewater, Mass.) took first overall in the javelin throw at the WSU Invitational and sophomore Kyle Carr (Westerly, R.I.) was the top overall Crusader performer at the Dick Shea Open competing in the hammer throw and finishing with a distance of 36.40 meters.
