Men's Track & Field Eighth In Patriot League Preseason Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's track and field team was selected to finish eighth in the 2012 outdoor track and field Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Bucknell received 10 first place votes and 94 points to edge out Navy, which got 89 points and six first place votes, for the top overall spot. The Bison won the outdoor Patriot League championship for the third time in 2011 and also took home the indoor title earlier this year.

Army was selected third with 75 points, Lehigh was voted fourth with 61 points and Lafayette was selected fifth with 51 points. Colgate (30), American (27) and Holy Cross (21) rounded out the poll.

Holy Cross will begin outdoor action this Saturday, March 24, at the Husky Spring Open at 10:00 a.m.
