Two Track And Field Athletes Compete In Day One Of Patriot League Championship

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Holy Cross men's and women's track and field teams opened day one of competition at the Patriot League Indoor Championship at Bucknell on Friday afternoon with two athletes who participated in the pentathlon and heptathlon. Freshman Sarah Dahlstrom (Southborough, Mass.) earned a 4th place finish in the pentathlon with a score of 3,187 points and senior Michael Millard (Manhasset, N.Y.) completed the first of two days of competition in the heptathlon with a current score of 2,172 points.

Dahlstrom's finish in the five event pentathlon included a 1st overall finish in the shot put with a distance of 11.31 meters. She also recorded a time of 9.82 seconds and tie for seventh place in the 60 meter hurdles, a height of 1.50 meters and seventh place finish in the high jump, a sixth place finish and distance of 5.00 meters in the long jump and a time of 2:33.89 and fourth place finish in the 800 meter run.

The heptathlon began with four events including one track event and three field events. Millard recorded a time of 7.60 seconds in the 60 meter dash, a distance of 5.70 meters in the long jump, a distance of 9.51 meters in the shot put and a height of 1.66 meters in the high jump. The second day of the heptathlon will include 60 meter hurdles, pole vault and 1,000 meter run.

Day two of the Patriot League Indoor Championship is set to begin tomorrow, Feb. 18, with the heptathlon beginning at 9:30 a.m., field events at 11:00 a.m. and track events at 1:00 p.m.
