Men's Track & Field Prepares For Valentine Invitational

  • The Holy Cross men's indoor track team returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 11 when it travels to Boston University to compete in the Valentine Invitational at 10:30 a.m. Last season, senior Chandler Fenner (Virginia Beach, Va.) and graduate Alex Johnson each recorded top ten finishes for the Crusaders with Fenner finishing fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 13.89 meters and Johnson finishing ninth in the long jump with a distance of 6.47 meters.
  • Other notable finishes at the 2011 meet included graduate Brendan Medeiros who finished 22nd in the 1,000 meter run with a time of 2:29.52 and graduate Kenneth McKenna who finished 18th in the weight throw with a distance of 13.41 meters and 25th in the shot put with a distance of 12.53 meters.
  • The Crusaders took second in an open meet against Maine last weekend in Orono, Maine. Senior Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) took first place in the 3,000 meter run and freshman Mike Galasso (Danvers, Mass.) added another first place finish for the Crusaders in the 500 meter run. Five Crusaders finished second in track events and Holy Cross recorded one second place and four third place finishes in the field events.
