Crusaders Ready To Travel To New Hampshire

Schedule: Saturday, Jan. 21 at New Hampshire with Stonehill, Durham, N.H., 12:00 p.m.
- The Holy Cross men's track and field team continues action over the winter break when it travels to compete at the Rhode Island Sorlien Memorial Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 14 as well as the Yale Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 14.
- The Holy Cross Crusaders have recently competed at New Hampshire around the same time of the year. Each year they compete against New Hampshire, but the other competing teams change from year to year. Last year Holy Cross competed against New Hampshire, Stonehill and Worcester State. Last year in Durham, graduate Brendan Medeiros (Fall River, Mass.) finished first in the 1,000, while senior Alex Martin (Sutton, Mass.) took first in the triple jump with a distance of 13.46 meters.
- At the Sorlien Memorial Invitational, the Holy Cross Crusaders were led by senior Chandler Fenner (Virginia Beach, Va.) who finished in fourth place in the 60 with a time of 7.06 seconds and eighth place in the long jump with a distance of 6.60 meters. In the throwing events, sophomore Kyle Carr (Westerly, R.I.) led the Crusaders in the weight throw finishing in ninth place with a distance of 11.82 meters and fellow classmate Ben Dapaah-Afriyie (Attleboro, Mass.) finished in 11th place with a distance of 11.55 meters in the shot put.
- In the Yale Invitational, senior Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) represented Holy Cross as the only Crusader participant. Altenau ran the 3,000 with a time of 8:47.55 finishing in 14th place.
