Men’s Track & Field Places 29 On Patriot League Academic Honor Roll
WORCESTER, Mass. – Twenty nine members of the Holy Cross men's track and field team have been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll as announced by the league office. Senior Chris Bergan (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was named to the honor roll for the fourth time. Bergan, a Political Science and Spanish major, was also named to the men's indoor track and field Academic All-Patriot League team. Sophomore Charlie Cunningham (Reading, Mass.) led the men's team with a perfect 4.0 grade point average during the spring semester.
Seniors James Fletcher (Woburn, Mass.), Gregory Liguori (Norwood, N.J.) and Doug Moringiello (Garden City, N.Y.), along with juniors Chase Bradford (West Bridgewater, Mass.) and Cory Loftis (Branford, Conn.) were named to the honor roll of the third time. Seniors Kenneth McKenna (Ossining, N.Y.), Brendan Medeiros (Fall River, Mass.) and Tim Paquette (Malden, Mass.) and sophomores Nick Poles (Quincy, Mass.) and Kevin Wall (Winchester, Mass.) marked their names to the honor roll for the second time in their careers.
Finding a place on the honor roll for the first time was seniors Richard Waldmann (Stony Brook, N.Y.) and Alex Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind.), juniors Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.), Alex Martin (Sutton, Mass.) and Chandler Fenner (Virginia Beach, Va.), sophomores Chris Schaller (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Kevin Turner (Charlton, Mass.) and newcomers Brian Brazeau (Warwick, R.I.), Ben Dapaah-Afriyie (Attleboro, Mass.), Sean Hagan (Reading, Mass.), Quinn Kaiser (Evanston, Ill.), Robert Keilig (Hopkinton, N.H.), Mark Legare (Medfield, Mass.), Matt McCormick (Needham, Mass.), Sam McGrath (Tyngsboro, Mass.), Tom Santa Maria (Winchester, Mass.) and Dylan Villescas (Las Cruces, N.M.).
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a winter or spring sport student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester. Bucknell led all Patriot League schools with 44 student-athletes making the Academic Honor Roll. Holy Cross tallied 29 student-athletes for honor roll selection, while Lehigh followed with 25 and Army with 21.
