- The season continues as the Holy Cross men's track & field team prepares for its last two meet of the regular season this week. The Crusaders will race in a home meet versus Central Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Worcester State on Tuesday, April 26, before concluding their regular season at the Brown Springtime Open in Providence, R.I., on Sunday May 1 at 9:30 am. In the following weeks, select members of the track & field team will race in the Patriot League Championship, New England Championship, and ECAC Outdoor Championship.
- During the 2010 season, the Crusaders took fourth at the home meet, with New Hampshire winning the competition. Junior Dan Altenau (Eastchester, N.Y.) took first place in the 1,500 with a personal-best time of 4:02.91, while junior Stephen Madsen (New Providence, N.J.) placed third with a time of 1:58.18. At the 2010 Springtime Open, junior Michael Millard (Manhasset, N.Y.) led the Crusaders with a first place finish in the pole vault with a height of 3.90 meters. Junior Kenneth McKenna (Ossining, N.Y.) took fifth in the shot put with a distance of 12.01 meters.
- Last weekend the Crusaders placed second at the home invitational. Maine won the team event with 154 points, Holy Cross finished second with 144 points, Central Connecticut placed third with 123 points, Hartford was fourth with 103 points, AIC finished fifth with 44 points and Colgate was sixth with 11 points.
- At the invitational, senior Alex Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind.) won the long jump with a personal-best distance of 6.65 meters, while junior Alex Martin (Sutton, Mass.) placed first in the triple jump with a distance of 13.19 meters. Junior Chase Bradford (West Bridgewater, Mass.) finished second in the javelin with a distance of 54.17 meters, while Senior Brendan Medeiros (Fall River, Mass.) finished second in the 1,500 with a time of 4:00.39. Freshman Nick Petsky (Manorville, N.Y.) placed second in the 800 with a season-best time of 1:58.46, while freshman Thomas St. Cyr (Temple, N.H.) was third in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.84 seconds.
