Men’s Track & Field Finishes Second At Home Meet
WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Alex Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind.) placed first in the long jump and junior Alex Martin (Sutton, Mass.) claimed first in the triple jump to lead the Holy Cross men's track and field team to a second place finish Saturday afternoon at its annual home meet. Maine won the team event with 154 points, Holy Cross finished second with 144 points, Central Connecticut placed third with 123 points, Hartford was fourth with 103 points, AIC finished fifth with 44 points and Colgate was sixth with 11 points.
Johnson won the long jump with a distance of 6.65 meters, while Martin placed first in the triple jump with a distance of 13.19 meters. Junior Chase Bradford (West Bridgewater, Mass.) finished second in the javelin with a distance of 54.17 meters. Senior Brendan Medeiros (Fall River, Mass.) finished second in the 1,500 with a time of 4:00.39, freshman Nick Petsky (Manorville, N.Y.) placed second in the 800 with a time of 1:58.46 and freshman Thomas St. Cyr (Temple, N.H.) was third in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.84 seconds.
Holy Cross returns to action at the Hart Track on Tuesday, April 26 with a home meet against Central Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island & Worcester State.
