Crusaders Prepare For Two Meets This Weekend

Saturday, April 9, at New Hampshire Invitational, Durham, N.H., 11:00 am. 

  • The Holy Cross men's track & field team continues action with two meets this weekend. Select members of the squad will represent Holy Cross at the two-day Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C., while other Crusaders will race at the New Hampshire Invitational in Durham, N.H.
  • The Crusaders did not compete at the Duke Invitational during the 2009-2010 season. This year, thirteen members of the team will represent Holy Cross at the meet. Junior Chase Bradford (West Bridgewater, Mass.) finished first in the javelin at the AIC Invitational last weekend with a New England Championship qualifying and personal-best distance of 58.65 meters. Bradford is now only .5 meters away from qualifying for the IC4A Championship, and will compete in the event at the Duke Invitational this weekend.
  • The Crusader track & field team will also travel to Durham, N.H. to compete at the New Hampshire Invitational this weekend. Last year at the New Hampshire Invitational, senior Connor LaClair (Hyde Park, Vt.) led the team with two top-ten performances. LaClair placed seventh in the 200 with a time of 23.50 seconds and took ninth in the 100 with a time of 11.88 seconds. Sophomore Kevin Turner (Charlton, Mass.) placed eighth in the 800 with a time of 2:01.72.
